Mondays at 10:00am

Community Gathering Group Leader - The Community

The Peer Support Center is a living Community of Peers.  Essential to the life of our community is the Community Gathering … this is the time and place that members come together with Dignity, Acceptance and Respect of others.  It is when all members and staff can share any updates on events that might be taking place within the Peer Center. You have a voice and it should be heard!

Mondays at 11:00am

Gathering Self-Esteem Group Leader - John

This very popular self-esteem group has been meeting regularly since 2006.  The first key principle in Peer Support is “Connection.” The Principle of Connection may be defined differently by each individual. “Connection” becomes a starting point for building and regaining self-esteem.  By sharing mutual experiences we begin to take a look at the very way we connect with others and how others connect with us, to “see” others and have others “see” us.  With the understandings that come from these kind of “Connections” we start to move forward using the other Principals of Peer Support.

Mondays at 1:00pm (Temporarily Not Meeting)

The Purpose of Goals: Group leader - Sean

In this group we discuss the issues that get in the way of our purpose and in the way of our moving towards what we want.  We discuss why we are here and what we can do to change our personal world so that it fits our lives.  What makes us unique and what we can do to have a positive future out in the real world?  We help each other and plan for the future.  What is our next move?  How do we reach a goal, from the smallest to the largest?  We will share with each other what we are good at and what makes us happy.

Tuesdays at 1:00pm

Social Gathering: Group Leader - John

This group is an unstructured opportunity for an “open ended” discussion to make connection and discuss everyday events with each other.  This sharing experience with each other can be on everyday events, our outlook on the world today as WE see it, change and grow; much like ourselves.   If there is a “lull” in the discussion John will share some “tidbit of wisdom” to get the discussion moving forward again!

Tuesdays at 2:00pm

WRAP: Group Leader - John

WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) is a plan that you create for yourself in a group of peers.  Group members discuss what constitutes WRAP, and through the process of “shared experiences” each member develops their own Plan. The Plan is then used to assists each of us in our daily lives.

Wednesdays at 11:00am (Temporarily Not Meeting)

Finding Yourself: Group Leader - Sean

In this group we will be figuring out who we are as a person and what we want to do with our future.  Thinking about a goal is the only way a dream can come true.  Knowing that life is a journey and many things may happen in your life time.  How will we handle them?  We try to take any opportunity we can and move forward with our wellness. What kind of person do you want to be?

Thursdays at 9:00am

Peer Support Values: Group Leader - Jim

An open entry level discussion of Basic Peer Support Principles. Do these Principals affect us? How? Can they impact on OUR daily lives?  There will be time in each  session to discuss how these Principles can/or have made a difference for each of us.

Thursdays at 11:00am

Managing Stress: Group Leader - Kay

Are you stressed? Does the stress of daily living pre-occupy your every day activities?  In this group we share experiences that trigger stress in our lives.  We will explore and learn some easy practical techniques and ways to reduce stress in our lives and move on.  Come join us and manage your stress!

Fridays at 2:00pm

The Art of Self Respect: Group Leader - Lee Ann

Being diagnosed with a mental illness can be a challenge.  We must remember we are doing the best we can, even when we are met with current stigma.  You are a valuable person worthy of being happy with yourself.  Come and explore the subject of self-respect and respect with us!

Fridays at 3:00pm (Temporarily Not Meeting)

Planning on Positive Thinking: Group Leader - Sean

This group is designed to undo the stresses of negative energy and channel in positive energy.  We need to plan on positive things in our lives and diminish the negative.  Create positive things from negative ones.  The key to our recovery is to stay strong and pan on the good in life to come our way.  Never dwell on the negative!

Saturdays at 1:00pm

Exercise:  Group Leader - Scott

Exercise is for EVERY- body!  Exercise is a key factor in maintaining and improving overall health.  Come join us!
